    About Matcha Mura.

My name is Kyle, when I was 14, I came across an article online that said matcha could help clear up acne. Desperate to try anything, I walked into an Asian grocery store, picked up a tiny tin of matcha, and whisked up my very first cup. I expected something medicinal - and it indeed tasted medicinal and very grassy. Still. I kept drinking it in hopes of clearing my skin.

Why Matcha from Uji, Kyoto?

Authentic Japanese matcha powder

💮 The Birthplace of Japanese Matcha

Uji has been cultivating matcha for over 800 years. As the original home of ceremonial-grade matcha, its tea-growing traditions are the most respected in Japan. To this day, Uji remains the benchmark for quality.

🏞️ The Ideal Growing Conditions

Nestled between rivers and hills, Uji’s cool climate, mineral-rich soil, and seasonal fog create perfect conditions for shade-grown tencha — the tea leaves used to make premium matcha.

🧂 Traditional Craftsmanship

Uji matcha is still stone-milled slowly by artisans using traditional techniques. Every harvest, every grind, every step is done with precision and pride — preserving the purity of the leaf.

🍵 A Taste That Speaks for Itself

Vibrant in colour and naturally sweet, Uji matcha is smooth, rich, and balanced — never bitter. It’s the kind of matcha you remember after the first sip. Deep, calming, and unmistakably refined.

🧑‍🌾 A Legacy Passed Down Through Generations

Many farms in Uji have been in the same families for centuries. Their craft is not mass-produced — it’s personal. Each batch reflects years of devotion, discipline, and heritage. That’s the matcha we source.
