In a world full of product lines, seasonal blends, and rotating flavours, we chose a different path. At Matcha Mura, we only offer one matcha. Not because we couldn’t source more — but because we believe real excellence doesn’t need variety. It just needs focus.

1. Quality Isn’t a Spectrum — It’s a Standard
Matcha isn’t something that gets better the more types you offer. It gets better the more care you take in choosing the right one. We didn’t want to stock four different blends and hope something would stick. We wanted to find the matcha that spoke for itself. And when we found it, we stopped looking.

Our matcha comes from Uji, Japan — widely respected as the birthplace of Japan’s finest ceremonial-grade matcha. It’s hand-harvested, slow stone-milled, and packed fresh.
2. We Tasted Our Way Across Japan
Before we chose our matcha, we tasted dozens of samples from across Japan: from the misty hills of Shizuoka to the quiet valleys of Mie. Some were good. Some were even great. But none came close to what we found in Uji, Kyoto.
The colour. The calm sweetness. The texture. The balance. It all pointed in one direction. Once we experienced Uji matcha, the decision became clear.

Matcha isn’t a trend to us. It’s a craft. While other brands chase ever-changing flavours and powdered superfood blends, we’re anchored in something more lasting: purity.
