Why Our Packaging Matters: Protecting the Integrity of Matcha
Not all matcha is created equal — and not all matcha is stored equally either.
At Matcha Mura, we’ve gone to great lengths to ensure your ceremonial-grade matcha arrives as fresh, vibrant, and flavourful as the day it was milled in Uji, Japan. That starts with how we package it.
Here’s how our custom-designed pouch protects the quality in every cup.
Double-Layered Protection
Matcha is delicate. Its rich colour, flavour, and nutrients are all highly sensitive to light, air, and moisture. That’s why we’ve designed a double-layered pouch system:
An outer matte white pouch that’s waterproof, resealable, and built to withstand handling, temperature shifts, and humidity.
An inner silver foil lining that provides an added layer of light and air resistance — shielding your matcha from oxidation and UV exposure.
Light can dull matcha’s color. Air can flatten its flavour. Moisture can ruin it entirely.
Our packaging is designed to fight all three.
Designed to Deliver Freshness
Because we import our matcha directly from farmers in Uji and airship it in small batches, your matcha doesn’t sit in warehouses or shipping containers for months. And once it lands, our packaging ensures it stays fresh — from us to your cup.
It’s not just about looking good. It’s about honoring the product inside.
Storage Tips
Once opened, we recommend:
Resealing the pouch tightly after each use
Storing in a cool, dry, dark place (like a pantry or drawer)
For even longer freshness, refrigeration is fine — just keep it airtight
Because Great Matcha Deserves Great Packaging
When you spend time sourcing the best ceremonial-grade matcha from Japan’s most respected tea region, every step after that matters just as much. That’s why we invest in packaging that protects what we’ve worked so hard to bring you.
So when you open your pouch, you’re not just seeing a pretty bag — you’re tasting everything we’ve preserved.
